Vanessa Baker
Principal Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Supervisor

Vanessa is a Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience working with young people and families. She has worked across a range of settings including schools, hospitals, community mental health, private practice, and not-for-profit sector. Vanessa works with a range of presenting issues, and has additional training in conducting gold standard autism assessments. 

 

Vanessa's main therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy and systemic family therapy; however, utilises other interventions such as acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology. Vanessa is also a certified facilitator of Circle of Security Parenting, Tuning in to Teens, and PEERS for Young Adults.

 

Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours Class I) at the University of Sydney, and a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra. She is currently completing the Schema Therapy Training certification program. 

In addition to her clinical work, Vanessa has worked within research teams at Liverpool Hospital and the University of New South Wales. Areas of research included evaluating transition to school guidelines for children with ASD, contributing to the Australian Autism Biobank, and evaluating resources designed to improve partner communication during pregnancy. Vanessa is also a PsyBA approved supervisor for clinical psychology interns and registrars.
