Melinda Williams

Melinda Williams
Consultant Psychologist

Melinda is a Consult Psychologist with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families, first as a teacher and then as a psychologist. Melinda has a special interest in developing warm therapeutic relationships with clients, teaching skills to better manage current stressors and empowering them to believe in and work towards positive change.

 

Melinda has training in a number of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Person Centred Therapy including Motivational Interviewing, Systemic Family Therapy, and Cool Kids® Program.​

 

In addition to her clinical experience, Melinda works with a research team at Charles Sturt University. Her research interests include how girls compete against one another, how boys compete against one another and how adults choose long term partners.

  • Bachelor of Science (Honours Class I), University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa

  • Graduate Diploma in Education with Distinction, University of Technology Sydney

  • Graduate Diploma of Psychology with Distinction, Charles Sturt University

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences Psychology (Honours Class I), Charles Sturt University

  • Full registration with Psychology Board of Australia

  • Member of Australian Psychology Society
